Purpose of Tutoring Services

HonorsBioHub provides supplemental biology tutoring services designed to support and enhance students' understanding of biology concepts. Our tutoring is intended to complement, not replace, formal classroom instruction.

No Guarantee of Results

While we are committed to providing high-quality tutoring and supporting student success, we cannot and do not guarantee specific academic outcomes. This includes but is not limited to:

• Specific test scores or exam results

• Grade improvements or final course grades

• Acceptance into specific academic programs

• Scholarship awards or academic honors

• Performance on standardized tests (SAT, ACT, AP exams, etc.)

• College admission outcomes

Student success depends on numerous factors beyond tutoring, including:

• Individual effort and dedication to learning

• Consistent attendance and active participation in sessions

• Completion of homework and practice assignments

• Prior academic background and preparation

• Learning style and individual abilities

• Support systems at home and school

• Time invested in studying outside of tutoring sessions

• Overall academic environment and resources

Not a Substitute for Professional Services

HonorsBioHub tutoring services are not a substitute for:

• Formal Education: Our tutoring supplements but does not replace classroom instruction, laboratory work, or formal coursework

• Special Education Services: We do not provide specialized instruction for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans

• Educational Testing or Diagnosis: We do not diagnose learning disabilities, ADHD, or other educational or developmental conditions

• Medical Services: We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment

• Psychological or Therapeutic Services: We do not provide counseling, therapy, or mental health services

• Educational Evaluation: We do not conduct formal academic assessments or standardized testing

Recommendation for Collaborative Approach

We strongly encourage students and parents to:

• Maintain open communication with classroom teachers

• Consult with school counselors regarding academic planning

• Work with special education professionals if applicable

• Seek appropriate medical or psychological evaluation when needed

• Utilize all available school resources and support services

• Coordinate tutoring efforts with classroom curriculum and assignments

The most effective learning occurs when tutoring works in conjunction with, not in isolation from, the student's overall educational experience.

All tutoring sessions are booked and conducted through Wyzant.com, an independent third-party platform. By booking tutoring services through Wyzant, you agree to:

• Wyzant's payment processing and refund policies

• Wyzant's scheduling and cancellation policies

• Wyzant's dispute resolution procedures

HonorsBioHub is not responsible for and has no control over:

• Wyzant's platform functionality or availability

• Wyzant's billing and payment systems

• Wyzant's policies or terms of service

• Technical issues with the Wyzant platform

• Disputes handled through Wyzant's resolution process

Limitation of Responsibility

HonorsBioHub and its tutor provide educational support in good faith but cannot be held responsible for:

• Student performance on any tests, quizzes, or assignments

• Final grades in courses

• Academic decisions made by schools or teachers

• Changes to curriculum or testing formats

• Technical difficulties during online sessions

• Schedule conflicts or session cancellations

• Misunderstandings or miscommunications regarding academic content

Parental/Guardian Responsibility

Parents and guardians are responsible for:

• Monitoring their child's academic progress

• Communicating with teachers and school administrators

• Ensuring students complete assigned work

• Providing an appropriate learning environment for tutoring sessions

• Supervising minor children during online sessions

• Making final decisions regarding educational planning
